Taylor Lautner Meets Up With Victoria

taylor-friend-24-29apr09

Saturday Taylor Lautner went to dinner and a movie with Selena Gomez, young love in bloom.

Sunday he and his dad hooked up for a friendly lunch with a girl he used to work with back in the Nickelodeon days. Vancouver is a major production hotspot right now! The girl was accompanied by her mother who is also her publicist. Needless to say, mom/publicist was hoping she could hitch a ride onto Taylor who now, as you know, has earned a very high profile.

This is why the four of them were walking around downtown that afternoon trying to attract attention, practically flailing their arms around until the paps were notified. And so they came. And then Taylor’s dad and no-name girl’s mom (what’s she called? no clue, don’t care) tried to get out of the way to encourage the two being shot together.

Don’t worry about drama. There is no drama. Selena is a Disney child. She knows the business, she understands how this business works. Taylor is learning too.

Because the next day, Monday, as soon as his photos with Selena dropped and made a huge splash, suddenly he was all camera shy. Not 24 hours before, he was walking around downtown Vancouver, happily promoting a friend (this girl has the makings of a new Shelfy Biel, non?) and the next day his dad and trainer are all pap-phobic and escaping.

They grow up so fast…

As for what’s happening on set of New Moon today – continuing to shoot break up and Bella losing it and some scenes with Bella and Jacob in her room. Tomorrow, it’s a movie theater and an Edward apparition and a motorcycle or something.

PS. Just contacted by her publicist who wrote the following:

I am responding to your posting regarding. The girl Taylor is with is my client Victoria Justice who is a rising star on the Nickelodeon network who is in Vancouver shooting the title role for a new Nick original TV movie thriller. In addition she will be starring on her own show on the network that will premiere in early 2010 and she was one of the stars of Zoey 101 and recently starred in Nick’s TV movie Spectacular! She has appeared on numerous magazine covers for Tiger Beat, Bop, Popstar, Twist, J-14 and was recently featured in Teen Vogue as “The Girl of the Moment.”

They’ve known each other since they were 11.

Good to see Taylor sharing some time with his old friend Victoria. Hope she rises to fame just as well as Taylor :) . If you want to check out more photo’s from PUNKD Images, head over to Lainey Gossip.

Kristen Stewart Interview Australia

kirsten_stewart_interview

Kirsten Stewart is Hollywood’s reluctant star, refusing to follow in the predictable footsteps of Paris, Britney, Lindsay and the industry’s other leading pretty young things.

Screams from frantic, obsessed young female fans of last year’s blockbuster vampire fantasy film Twilight follow Stewart when she steps out in public but instead of inciting the frenzy by attending red-carpet events and nightclub openings, the 18-year-old with the gorgeous green eyes chooses to stay at home and read abook.

Her Los Angeles home is not a mansion in the Hollywood Hills despite her pocketing $US2million ($2.7million) for Twilight and a reported $US4 million for the sequel, New Moon, set for release in November.

Home is comfortable in suburban LA, where she lives a regular life with her Australian scriptwriter mother, Jules, television producer father, John, and older brother, Cameron.

But this is not a shy, sheltered teen. Stewart is as wise and tough as a Hollywood veteran.

“Kristen has a great bullshit detector,” the writer-director of her new comedy Adventureland, Greg Mottola, tells S.

When Stewart arrives for this interview in a Beverly Hills hotel, a stylist has not scoured the racks of nearby Rodeo Drive’s designer boutiques for a jaw-dropping Dior creation. Stewart is dressed casually in black skinny jeans and a grey, loose-fitting T-shirt.

“This is me,” the actress says, jokingly rubbing her hands down her thin 168-centimetre frame.

Stewart also swims against the tide of Hollywood when it comes to breakfast, venturing where most refuse to go.

“I actually don’t mind Vegemite,” she says, laughing. “I know most Americans can’t stand the smell, taste or look of it but I like it.”

Stewart, of course, can thank her Maroochydore-born mum for an early introduction to the iconic Australian spread. Born in Los Angeles and raised in the US, the actress names Noosa Heads as one of her favourite places on the planet. The Queensland resort town is where she holidayed with her family and learned to ride a surfboard.

Stewart’s Australian heritage also inspired the name of her dog, a border collie named Oz.

“I love Australia and we have a lot of great family and friends down there. I can’t wait to get back,” she says.

Time for a holiday is a rare commodity for Stewart these days. The success of Twilight, based on the best-selling Stephenie Meyer novel, has Hollywood studios clamouring to sign her to their next film. Twilight cost a relatively frugal $US37million to make and ended up cashing in worldwide with $US377million in box-office earnings.

The recent DVD release in the US has added more than $US100million to the tally. In Twilight she plays the female lead, Bella, a teenager who falls in love with irresistibly good-looking vampire Edward Cullen, portrayed by England’s teen heart-throb, Robert Pattinson.

“It feels so good to have something you love be received so hotly,” says Stewart, who became just as entranced by Twilight after reading the novel as its millions of teenage (and adult) fans.

“But the physical manifestation of the success, from the screaming fans to the box office, is just crazy.

“The fans are just so enthusiastic and I am so excited to do New Moon. I’m so ready to get on to the next one.”

You can trace Stewart’s rise in Hollywood back to a similar entry point as many young actors the Disney studio lot.

As a 10-year-old she had a role in Disney movie The Thirteenth Year but that’s where the comparisons between Stewart and Disney’s top-tier creations, Miley Cyrus and Hilary Duff, end.

Instead of starring in a child-friendly television series with spin-off albums and merchandising, Stewart gravitated to heavy, independent roles, her first being 2001’s The Safety Of Objects, a film starring Glenn Close and Patricia Clarkson, where she plays a tomboy raised by a troubled single mother.

It set the tone for some dark and difficult roles. In her nine-year career, Stewart has played a stripper, a rape victim, a diabetic and a schoolstudent struck by a degenerative muscular disease.

The big Hollywood films studios are now tempting her with do not move her but she is wise enough to realise the success of Twilight and the power of her name can get the small passion projects she loves made.

Stewart shot independent feature The Cake Eaters two years ago, a film co-starring Bruce Dern and this year’s best actress Oscar nominee for Frozen River, Melissa Leo, and directed by Mary Stuart Masterson. It had sat onthe shelf with the prospect of never beingseen.

When Twilight was released last year and became a worldwide phenomenon, The Cake Eaters suddenly had a release date. And, capitalising on Stewart’s new-found success, posters promoting the film are dominated not by Dern or Leo: they simply show Stewart’s face.

In The Cake Eaters she plays Georgia, a teenager trapped in a body racked by a muscular disease that causes her to walk unsteadily and mumble when she speaks. The US’s best-known film critic, Roger Ebert, described the performance as “remarkable”.

“If it was not for Twilight, I’m not sure The Cake Eaters, a film I dearly love, would have seen the light of day,” Stewart reflects.

“We made it more than two years ago.”

Another independent film, Welcome To The Rileys, stars The Sopranos’ James Gandolfini but it is Stewart’s performance as a street youth forced to become a stripper that is generating the most attention.

“Now people are saying: ‘Let’s see Bella in a stripper movie,”‘ Stewart laughs.

The next movie Australian audiences will see Stewart in is Mottola’s Adventureland. (Mottola’s last project was the ribald 2007 comedy Superbad.)

Adventureland is set in a rundown amusement park in 1980s Pittsburgh and again Stewart was attracted to a dark role. She plays Em Lewin, a university student with a very damaged upbringing.

“Yeah,” Stewart smiles, noting the trend.

“Em is fairly damaged. She has an odd number of hang-ups. It’s too much for her. Any time you don’t like yourself people won’t treat you well. She feels like anything she touches is just going to get messed up because she has been messed with so much.

“Do I feel sorry for her? Sure. Anybody who has issues they can’t get over and you see potential in them and want it to come out, I feel for them.”

Em’s troubles continue when she has an affair with the amusement park’s married manager, played by Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds, a tabloid and paparazzi favourite after leaving musician girlfriend Alanis Morissette in June 2006 and dating and marrying screen siren Scarlett Johansson soon after, knows what it’s like to live in the public eye.

He is impressed with how the low-key Stewart is handling the post-Twilight media storm.

“There’s nothing I or anyone can tell her that she doesn’t already know,” Reynolds says.

“She is a pretty wise soul.”

Mottola agrees.

“Orson Welles once said his favourite actors make the act of thinking dramatic and I think she does that,” he adds.

“I see things flash across her face and I want to know more. She draws me in. She is smart and very serious, especially for someone her age. I just find her really, really interesting towatch.”

Stewart is content to juggle the Twilight spotlight and the dark, broken people she loves to portray in independent roles.

She is also not ready to leave the comfort and stability of her parents’ home.

“No,” the actress says.

“No plans to move any time soon. I’m really tight with my family and besides, I think it would be a little weird to have a big, sprawling place all on my own.”

Well there you go, she actually likes Vegemite! I guess her Aussie roots have some part in that but most Americans I’ve met hate the stuff. To Kristen, if you’re coming out to Australia soon, please let me know :) .

Bella’s House Video Footage

Some new footage from Twilight-Gossip of Bella’s house which is being constructed in Vancouver. To me, it’s looking pretty close to the original house used in Twilight. Added with Hollywood movie magic, the difference between the two should be minimal and should look good in the New Moon Movie. What do you think of the house so far?

Kristen Stewart On Set Vancouver High School

Twilight Fans Vancouver

VANCOUVER — Several dozen students and fans gathered at David Thompson secondary in Vancouver Tuesday hoping a for a glimpse of the stars on the set of Twilight: New Moon.

They were not disappointed.

A few lucky Twilighters saw series author Stephenie Meyer beyond the barricades set up outside the school cafeteria where filming is taking place. A single officer from the Vancouver Police Department is keeping the crowd in line.

The four books penned by Meyer have sold millions of copies and spawned an army of fans worldwide.

Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan, was also seen on set today. Robert Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward Cullen, was not in evidence.

The halls and cafeteria at David Thompson have been redecorated to resemble the high school at Fork Washington, where the Twilight stories take place.

Forks High Spartans flags, banners and trophies (in a fake trophy case) were brought in to complete the look.

While the crowd was composed mainly of teens from the school, some older fans made the trek to south Vancouver when word of the shoot got out on Twitter and The Vancouver Sun website Monday night.

Thompson student Simrit Sian, 14, skipped her science class to join the fans watching the action.

She was hoping to see Taylor Lautner, who plays werewolf Jacob Black, a rival to vampire Edward for Bella’s affection.

“He’s so hot,” Sian said of Lautner.

Thirty-two-year-old Katrina Bergen is a live casting artist who came to the set on the chance she might get a cast of a movie star’s hand. She has reread all four Twilight books over the past six days.

“I don’t know why it appeals so much,” said Bergen. “It’s just a great love story.”

In the past few weeks, fans have been running off their feet to catch glimpse of the stars around the city. Film crews have been spotted at Minnekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows and on location at Tofino near Long Beach.

Photos are circulating of Lautner at the Ridge Theatre and Varsity Ridge bowling alley, which was apparently being used Monday to stand in for the movie theatre in Port Angeles, WA. Lautner is pictured talking and talking pictures with fans. Photos are at www.vancityallie.com

Pattinson was seen dining at Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar in Vancouver’s trendy Yaletown last week. A call to the manager confirmed that the teen heartthrobs frequent the restaurant “two or three times a week.”

Pattinson also attended the Juno Awards reportedly was friendly towards fans, even giving a hug to a waitress who served him at Azia Restaurant in downtown Vancouver.

Stewart and Lautner were seen dining together apart from the rest of the cast at an Earl’s Restaurant in Port Coquitlam and walking together downtown near Robson Street that same day.

Those fans were a lucky bunch. As long as the fans are well behaved, New Moon Movie should be released on schedule. Were any of you present when the filming took place?

Indie Actor at Heart Kristen Stewart

large_kristen-stewart

Kristen Stewart can still remember the moment when she finally realized how big a bite Twilight was going to take out of her life.

During the filming of the vampire saga, which has gone on to suck up nearly $500 million (U.S.) at the box office, the actress focused on the work at hand, not allowing herself to think about the fans that’ve turned the Twilight novels by Stephenie Meyer into global bestsellers.

“I had tunnel vision and I wasn’t paying attention,” she says.

Then Stewart showed up for a book signing in Rome and was given a reception that literally left her rocking and reeling, the crowds were so big and intense.

“While we were exiting the building, I couldn’t get to the car,” she recalls. “I was dragged by security. I wasn’t even on my own feet. I was thrown into a van because if they hadn’t done it, I would’ve gotten … I don’t know what.

“So I was literally picked up and thrown into a van and then the doors shut and the van started shaking … It was a really surreal experience.”

Never mind that Stewart, who turns 19 on Thursday, has been working in movies for more than a decade. Twilight eclipsed the rest of her work. Yet with offers rolling in – and Twilight sequels to be shot – Stewart is staying true to her indie-movie roots.

Despite what she calls a year that’s been “really insane and absolutely psychotic,” the actress is making the promotional rounds on behalf of a pair of no-budget indies she shot immediately before entering the Twilight zone.

Mary Stuart Masterson’s The Cake Eaters, which was given a limited theatrical run before being released on DVD, features one of Stewart’s finest performances as a high schooler suffering from a fatal nerve disorder.

The slightly more upbeat Adventureland, which opened yesterday and is directed by Superbad helmer Greg Mottola, stars Stewart as Em, a Pittsburgh twentysomething who is trying to shore up her finances by working at a run-down amusement park.

Em’s personal life is complicated by a relationship with a married man (Ryan Reynolds) and an attraction to a brainy but neurotic co-worker (Jesse Eisenberg).

“I think that my character in Adventureland has no concept of what she really wants out of life,” says Stewart. “She puts on an act that she’s very secure and self-sufficient but she’s so not. She realizes too late that she should get over her hang-ups and be good to herself.”

Quirky characters are something of a Stewart specialty. She’s contributed understated yet vivid turns as a hippie singer in Into the Wild, a lonely teenager in In the Land of Women, and an alienated upper-cruster in Fierce People.

Despite staking a claim on the mainstream with Twilight, Stewart says she’ll always have a place in her heart for offbeat fare.

“I just finished up a movie (Welcome to the Rileys) where I play a homeless kid, a really damaged, really broken little kid, and she looks or acts nothing like my Twilight character,” notes Stewart. “In fact, she’s a stripper. So I’m not worried about (typecasting). I never really was.”

With Welcome to the Rileys in the can awaiting release, Stewart is already back into the world of neckbiters and werewolves.

New Moon, the second instalment of the Twilight series, began shooting for a Nov. 20 release. In contrast to the first movie, which tracked the romance between Bella and fanged boyfriend Edward (Robert Pattinson), New Moon finds Bella drawing closer to wolfman Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).

“Taylor is still playing Jacob and that’s the coolest thing,” says Stewart. “After Edward leaves, Bella is like a zombie and Jacob is like the light.

“It’s like, `He is who I should be with but I’m totally in love with this guy that I shouldn’t be with.’ That’s girls.”

Stewart says she’s looking forward to having the chance to grow up with Bella.

“New Moon is a much more painful story than the first one. It’s actually quite devastating. Bella is entirely depressed, but she matures.”

Stewart’s grew up largely on movie sets. The Los Angeles native is the daughter of John Stewart, a TV producer, and Jules Mann-Stewart, an Australian-born screenwriter.

At age 8, she landed a role in a Disney Channel TV production, The Thirteenth Year. At age 11, she played Jodie Foster’s mopey daughter in Panic Room.

Stewart has since amassed credits in movies ranging from horror (The Messengers) to family-friendly adventures (Catch That Kid; Zathura).

Stewart has a slate of diverse movies on her to-do list. She’ll reprise Bella once again in Eclipse, due in theatres on June 30, 2010. She’s also hoping to co-star in K-11, a movie her mother scripted and will direct about a special dorm at the L.A. County Jail.

“The wing is specifically for people that can’t be put into general population, people who need to be protected because they would be subject to a lot of danger,” says Stewart. “They’re an eclectic bunch of people. They’re famous people, gay people, cross-dressers, transsexuals.”

After she shoots New Moon, Stewart will rip it up as rocker Joan Jett in The Runaways, a biopic about the all-girl punk-rock band. Stewart will play Jett and Dakota Fanning has been tapped to play singer Cheri Currie.

“It’s a big job,” says Stewart. “I’ve never played a real person before. That period with the Runaways was so important … I’m nervous and intimidated. But that’s the best way to feel before you do a movie.”

Good to see that Hollywood hasn’t changed her heart; she has my respect.

Robert Pattinson Jealous of Taylor Lautner?

life_style_cover_new-moon-movie

Taylor Lautner has taken Robert Pattinson’s place as New Moon’s leading man, Jacob Black, and now the newly announced cast that makes up the movie’s wolf pack has stepped on Robert’s heartthrob territory. Even worse, the crew’s reportedly leaking rumors about his bad hygiene, and his co-stars are dishing about Rob’s pickup lines. In the meantime, Taylor’s clearly reveling in his new role — and the notice he’s getting for the roughly 30 pounds of muscle he packed on – from fans and co-star Kristen Stewart.

While Kristen got cozy with Robert during production of Twilight, she now seems to have ditched him in favor of Taylor. They’ve had plenty of alone time filming scenes together on remote Tofino beaches, and the two were spotted keeping each other company off set at Earl’s Restaurant and during a leisurely walk through downtown Vancouver on March 18. It’s all too much for insecure Robert — who says he doubts his own looks and even his kissing technique — to handle. “He’s feeling very worried about his status as a fading superstar,” an insider tells Life & Style. “And his friends are also concerned that Robert’s Twilight success may have only been short-lived, and they feel bad for him.”

Who ever wrote this article has completely lost the plot. I mean “He’s feeling very worried about his status as a fading superstar,” an insider tells Life & Style. Who is this insider? Does he or she know Robert Pattinson on a personal level? I highly doubt it. Online articles suggest that he tries to get away from the paparazzi. “I don’t really cope with it. I mean, I guess I’ve stopped, I just try to avoid places where I get photographed,” the actor told Teen Mix. “I don’t really like getting my photo taken, which is probably not a great thing if you are going to be an actor.” [Source]

If you going to write about someone like Robert Pattinson, get your facts straight first. You’re damaging not only his name, but also Taylor’s who happens to be a good kid. Stop-the-lies!

Jamie Campbell Bower Joins Volturi

Jamie Campbell Bower Volturi

Move over Dakota Fanning, make way for new fellow Volturi member Jamie Campbell-Bower!

The news was made public when he confirmed his casting to BBC News, declaring that being a part of the New Moon Movie is “very exciting.”

“You’re the first people I’ve told,” he said about the role of Caius, part of an Italian coven of vampires. “Shooting has already started, and I’m going over in June.” Campbell-Bower admits that he has some work to do now that he’s been cast in the film. “I hadn’t read the books before,” he said. “But it’s a great thing to be a part of, and it did very well last year.”

Although he was quick to divulge his own casting in the movie, he said he couldn’t talk about anyone else who might be joining the cast. “I do know who else will be in it — but I can’t tell you, unfortunately. But go online and have a look at the rumors,” he said, adding, “They’re all false. You’re putting me in a terrible situation.”

Campbell-Bower is also going to be working alongside Twilight infused Robert Pattinson but doubts he’ll be including that title to his resume anytime soon. “I doubt I’ll get the same sort of adulation as Robert — but it’s always nice when people recognize you for your work.”

Well Jamie Campbell-Bower certainly has the potential to be a vampire, considering he has previously starred in a gloomy, dark movie “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” along the side of hot shot Johnny Depp. Some are saying the 20-year-old is too young for the role. What do you think?
