The actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the box office hit, says he feels bad when people queue up to meet him and he doesn’t get a chance to talk to them: “You have to rush through everything so much.”

“I just feel terrible every single time because people have queued up since 4 o’clock in the morning for five seconds…and that’s it. I feel quite bad half the time”, he said. Shobizspy reported that a signing was almost canceled due to crowd control issues because the actor has so many fans.

Twilight Director Passed on New Moon

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has denied reports claiming she was sacked from sequel its New Moon – insisting it was her choice to pull out of the project.

Hardwicke – who scored the biggest debut ever for a female director when the big screen version of Stephanie Meyer’s popular novel hit the big screen in late November – was widely expected to take the helm for the follow-up movie before being replaced by American Pie director Chris Weitz.

But the movie-maker decided to walk away from New Moon -citing a tight budget and an even tighter deadline as her reasons.

“[It was] more money than I or anyone in my family has ever seen,” she says.

“I was devastated. I really did feel a strong connection to the people around the world that liked the movie – and to Stephenie Meyer and the actors. But I just didn’t think I could make a good movie under those circumstances.

“I know the budget they [Summit Entertainment] were talking about with me – they’ve already gone way beyond that.

“I’m optimistic that it’s going to be great, and I’m sad that it didn’t work out for me to do it.”

New Moon- starring Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson – is due to hit theaters in November.

Jonas Brothers Want In On “New Moon Movie”

jonasbros2

The super-popular trio the Jonas Brothers, who were nominated for the best new artist Grammy but lost to British songbird Adele, have expressed interest in contributing to the “New Moon” soundtrack.

“The movie was obviously a huge success, and if they asked us to be a part of (the sequel), that would be great,” Nick Jonas told
MTV.
“It would be really cool.”

The brothers said they are fans of Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” franchise and would be willing to write and perform a song for the soundtrack. The “Twilight” soundtrack debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart last fall. It features such diverse artists as Collective Soul, Paramore, Perry Farrell, Linkin Park and Meyer’s personal favorite, Muse.

If the Jonas Brothers were to contribute to “New Moon,” it could represent a perfect storm for teenage girls, the target audience for both Meyer’s mega-popular series and the band’s runaway success.

Of course, before they can write a “New Moon” song, the ultra-busy brothers need to actually see the first film.

“I haven’t seen it,” Joe Jonas said. “But I have heard it’s a great movie.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing it,” Nick Jonas said. “We’ve been a little busy, so it’s kinda hard to get the movies, but we’ll see it.”

“Typically, we’ll get the advance DVDs and watch them on plane rides or something,” Kevin Jonas added. “So, hopefully, we’ll do that.”

Disappointment at New Moon Movie Audition

SUN0208N MOVIE 02.jpg

VANCOUVER — Tears and arguments broke out Sunday as hundreds of first nations teenagers from all over North America were turned away from a casting call for New Moon, the sequel to last year’s vampiric blockbuster Twilight.

Some of the young people, who had flown in from as far away as Florida, began lining up as early as 5 a.m. at Second Avenue Studios in Vancouver’s Main Street area.

So when casting assistants told the crowd at 12:30 p.m. that no more people would be allowed in the building, the hundreds left outside were heartbroken.

Some even turned on those who had barely made it through, hurling accusations of cutting in line.

Rosanna Razor, 22, was one of the disappointed fans who didn’t get a chance to meet the casting director.

“It sucks,” she said. “I was here since 9 a.m. I came up from Seattle.”

The crowd flooded to the open casting call as a result of ads posted on Craigslist a few weeks ago for “any first nations/aboriginal actors and actresses between the ages of 15 and 25” available to film between March and May.

New Moon, based on the second book in the Twilight series, follows the main character Bella and her time spent with friend and Quileute Jacob Black on the La Push reservation in northern Washington.

“This is more than we expected,” said Bim Narine, a casting assistant at Vancouver’s Aikins/Cossey. “It’s definitely a good turnout.”

The fans and aspiring actors in the crowd, which ran all the way down Second Avenue and around the corner of Crowe Street, came clutching copies of New Moon and headshots.

Some, like 17-year-old Jenny Gustafson, wrapped themselves in blankets to fight the cold and ease the jitters.

“I’m from the San Juan Islands near Friday Harbor,” the half-Athabascan teenager said, huddled in a black-and-blue fleece wrap.

Gustafson and her mother, Mary Long, had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. to catch a 6 a.m. ferry.

Even though Gustafson had no previous acting experience, her love for Stephenie Meyer’s series was more than enough motivation for the trek.

“I like any romance novel, and this one was kind of unique because of the forbidden love thing,” she said.

“I thought something would come up and she’d forget about it,” Long laughed at the mention of this teenage craze. “I hate to get up early. But she pushed through.

“Then again, it’s an experience,” she continued. “I told these guys around me who are getting discouraged and worried that, either they’re going to be in it or they’ll say, ‘Hey, I was standing beside that guy!’ So that’s gotta mean something, right?”

Jason Allen, 22, a firefighter from Portland, had some friends who saw the ad and insisted he come up to Vancouver.

He was happy he did.

Just before noon, Allen walked out of the studio with a smile on his face, a piece of white paper in his hand and an audition time scheduled for the afternoon.

Allen also admitted to not reading the entire series, save for a bit of Twilight.

However, the buzz surrounding the New Moon film—and the thought of taking a vacation from work—was appealing.

“If I get it, that’s great. If not, I still love my job,” he said.

Scripts were only handed out to successful candidates who met casting director Stuart Aikins’ pre-screening requirements.

Although there was some mystery about which movie the casting call was for, the audition text, which blacked out any familiar Twilight names, was still recognizable to fans.

One script was pointed out as being the dialogue between Bella and Embry at the bottom of
page 327 in the book.

Taylor Lautner Maintains Role of Jacob Black in New Moon

taylor_lautner

CHICAGO – Fans of the “Twilight” books and movies have been clamoring for news about whether or not Taylor Lautner would reprise his role in the sequel to the massively successful film, “New Moon”. Just a small announcement that didn’t feature Lautner in the cast list in this slideshow caused unrest in the “New Moon” community over the potential of re-casting the role. Good news, Taylor fans. He’s back.

Chris Weitz, the director of “New Moon,” revealed Wednesday in a post to Stephenie Meyer’s website, “I’m very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he’s doing so with the enthusiastic support

of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.”

There had been questions as to whether or not Taylor Lautner would be allowed to return because his character, Jacob Black, grows significantly in physical size in “New Moon” and plays a much bigger role. MTV News recently spoke to Lautner who said that he had been bulking up in the hope that he would be brought back for the role. He said, “My job for Twilight was to bring Twilight Jacob to life – the friendly, happy-go-lucky little Jacob. My job for New Moon is completely different. I’ve been looking forward to that. I’ve been getting ready for it, and I can assure them I will follow through with that”

Singer’s “Need” to get song in New Moon Movie

singers_campaign_to_get_song_in_twilight_sequel_new_moon

What music do you want to hear in the Twilight sequel New Moon? There’s been many comments as to what song people want. Paramore was a common vote, more Muse and perhaps a taste of Evanescence, but one aspiring singer/ songwriter desperately hoping to find her name on the soundtrack is 19-year-old Hana Pestle. The wannabe songstress is campaigning to get her song “Need” noticed by the bigwigs at Summit Entertainment in a bid to be included in the movie and is drumming up support on her MySpace page.

Hana has already gained the attention of former Evanescence singer/ songwriter Ben Moody and with his guidance, has created her debut CD which is in the works to be released later this summer. Most importantly, the CD includes “Need”; a song Hana first wrote when she was 15 which as a big fan of the Stephenie Meyers books, she believes fits in well with the themes and plot of Twilight follow-up New Moon. She even has a link with the Twilight soundtrack having toured last year with amongst others Collective Soul whose song “Tremble for my Beloved” is track seven on the album.

Listen to “Need” here and if you like what you hear show your support for Hana by posting her banner on your MySpace page, add her as a friend or leave a comment. And good luck to Hana from New-Moon-Movie.net. She just might make the cut of the “more experimental sound” that new director Chris Weitz is allegedly looking for.
